Overland 4x4 Build
Currently building this rig for a client, Joe. He found this RV in Idaho and we towed it to our shop. The original owners had to go into assisted living and his brother was selling it for them. You could tell they loved it, it has been updated over the years with a screw in everything to accommodate the extra bells and whistles, with silicone over it to seal it up. We picked up a 4x4 Toyota truck in Livingston, MT with a blown up motor. We took the frame and all the parts from the red truck to use in this build. Had the frame blasted, and painted it with POR15. Ground down all the rust in the truck cab inside and underside, welded some floor pans in and painted it all with POR15. Engine all removed and going to install a rebuilt 3RZ with a turbo instead of the 22R. Also blasted the axels and parts, then painted with POR15. Rebuilt all the axels, brakes, steering and bushings. Welded an sub-frame to support the camper body. Added frame mounts to the frame and all sorts of engine mounts and power steering mounts, and painted them.
The floor under the fridge had to be replaced, cut it all out and fiberglassed everything into place. Painted the floor with Killz to prevent any more water damage. All new weatherproof flooring in the camper as well as sound dampening and carpet kit in the cab. All new steering components, wheels and tires. Airbag ride added to supplement the rear shocks. Had to scrape all the window tint and reseal them.

The roof will be taken off and reinforced with massive new pop-top springs. Adding Renogy solar kit with monitor and a maxxfan deluxe roof vent. Had to add bracing for the Overland 270 awning and shower (pictures coming soon). Jocolca water heater and mount will be installed with the cover. A diesel heater will also be added. Rearview mirror and backup camera as well as new lighting for the camper. Reseal of the whole camper to the cab. New Pop-Top vinyl with extra windows and interior build to come. Keeping the original counter top and doing wood paneling. Follow our instagram for more progress.
